We had a great time at Café Church this month, our theme was based on the ascension, when Jesus rose to heaven after spending 40 days on the earth following Easter. We were surprised at how many Café Church goers have their birthdays in May! Along with our usual happy birthday chorus, we celebrated Daniel’s birthday, which was actually today! Every month we are so grateful for Daniel’s help in preparing lunch for everyone – thank you to Daniel for sharing his birthday cake with us!
We then watched a short cartoon and the puppets brought us a sketch which included one of them ascending up into a large cloud! We made some prayer spirals today and also ‘passed the globe’ as we prayed for various countries around the world. The puppets were then back singing for us before our final song – Amazing Grace – with the children joining us, as usual, on their percussion instruments!
After the service there was pasta Bolognese for everyone, lots of craft activities and time to enjoy the sunshine out in the garden. Café church is held on the First Sunday of every month at 10.30am – See you there 🙂
